Embodied NVC Practice Group with Janine Degitz (Virtual)
A Practice Group (PG) is a way to engage with a group of other like-minded people who want to develop their Nonviolent Communication (NVC) skills in a safe learning environment over time.
Together you will grow in your awareness of self-connection, empathy, honest self-expression, and ability to listen and respond instead of react.
We know that it can be hard in the beginning to get comfortable with NVC. Identifying feelings and needs, and making requests can be challenging to learn and practice on your own.
Janine will utilize a variety of mindfulness and movement tools to support participants in connecting with their body, to facilitate, gathering as a community of practice, grounding, connecting and resourcing during these challenging times.
The structure of each session will be as follows: Setting of agreements for our time together, gentle movements and breath awareness, check-in circle, tips for active listening and giving and receiving empathy, Chapter activities, breakout sessions in small groups, check-out and closing. Janine will support students to lean into their leadership and facilitation skills as the weeks progress so that the community can sustain the practice group beyond 8 weeks if they desire.
The practice group will be held for 8 weeks, once each week via ZOOM on Wednesday’s for 1 ½ hours from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. EST.
If for some reason a class needs to be canceled, Janine will find a substitute or reschedule
Students will be required to attain a companion workbook to participate in the class.
