Perfectly Imperfect: An NVC Practice Group for the Development of Curiosity and Compassion with Brianna Schiavoni

A Practice Group (PG) is a way to engage with a group of like-minded people that wish to develop their Nonviolent Communication (NVC) skills in a safe learning environment over time and through meaningful practice opportunities. With use of Dr. Marshal Rosenberg’s Nonviolent Communication book and the companion workbook written by Lucy Leu, participants will learn to make sense of their internal and oftentimes automated processes; so as to foster self-compassion and empathy for others. Readings, activities and group dialogue will be used to enlighten, nourish, encourage, and strengthen our collective capacity for self-awareness, acceptance, growth, interpersonal connectivity, and conflict resolution.

The upcoming practice group will be held over the course of 10 weeks on Tuesdays for 90 minutes from 12:00–1:30 p.m. EST on Zoom. Your guide - Ms. Brianna Schiavoni -lives with type one diabetes and is excited to offer a particularly meaningful lens specific to those impacted by chronic illness during the upcoming series; by way of speaking to the inner critic, our autonomic nervous system activity, and needs for self-compassion alongside routine self-care.
